A Sworn Translator translates various official documents (e.g. birth certificates, diplomas, extracts from registers, court decisions, notarial instruments).
A Sworn Translator is a specialized translator authorized by the state to provide official translations. A Sworn Translator verifies the correctness of the translation and is responsible for its accuracy. At the bottom of the translation, a Sworn Translator adds their signature and seal, which proves that the translation is consistent with the original document. Sworn Translator’s translation services are reliable, confidential and comply with national standards.
In order to become a Sworn Translator, the candidate must have an advanced level competency of both the target and the source language. In addition, it is required to pass a national three-step exam organized by the Ministry of Justice. The exam assesses language skills, translation competence and the knowledge of legal terms.
